Review Retraction: Aerosmith

I’m not a man who’s afraid to admit when he’s wrong.

In my last entry, I posted a bunch of snide comments about Tough Love, a forthcoming collection of Aerosmith ballads from the back half of their career.  Ain’t that just like a music snob: their old stuff was better, you know.  Well, it turns out that I didn’t know at all.  I made a playlist out of Tough Love’s proposed track list on my iPod and boy oh boy was I ever wrong.  This is without a doubt the most amazing Aerosmith album yet.  I must have been a blind man to not be able to see the grandeur and internal logic of this fine, fine collection.  Played right after this, such so-called classics as Rocks and Get Your Wings had me doing nothing but cryin’ in my headphones.  I’m not much of a religious man in a traditional sense, but I was livin’ on the edge of musical ignorance until some sort of angel must have landed on my shoulder and steered me right.  Crazy, man, just crazy.

Oh, and just so you don’t miss a thing about this post: happy April Fool’s Day, folks!
